Learning German

Das Leben ist ein Fest und Gott ist der Gastgeber

If life is a festival and God is the host, what kind of host is he to this festival of language learning? Are there moral or theological implications to learning language if the "Tower of Babel" story in Genesis chapter 11 is true? God mixed up the speech of the builders of this tower since they were trying to make something that would reach God. Presumably this was punishment for the sin of pride, the pride of thinking that a group of men could reach the loftiness of God. This is where languages came from, a result of this scheme of men to reach the heavens. I begin to unravel one thread, perhaps one language that God devised to ruin this tower project. Is it a divine festival of redemption or some subtly sinister working of communication that will someday build the tower of pride again? Is God a happy host?
